Database Administrator
- Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement database structures, tables, and schemas that meet the organization’s data needs.
- Data Security: Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance by monitoring and tuning query performance, indexing, and resource utilization.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and disaster recovery.
- Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions between database systems.
- Patch Management: Apply database patches, updates, and security patches to maintain system stability and security.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues, including data corruption, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including schemas, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, system administrators, and IT support to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
- Staying Updated: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database administration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and data modeling concepts.
- Experience with database performance optimization, indexing, and query tuning.
- Knowledge of data security practices and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery planning.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Certification in database administration (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator) is a plus.
