IT Infrastructure and Support Developer
- IT Infrastructure Management: Maintain and oversee the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and virtualization environments. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary upgrades and patches.
- Technical Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to employees, addressing hardware and software issues, network connectivity problems, and user account management. Resolve incidents and service requests within established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Endpoint Management: Manage end-user devices, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals. Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and security software.
- Network Administration: Assist in configuring and maintaining network devices, firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN connections. Ensure network security, availability, and performance.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, including user access controls, data protection, and security patches. Participate in IT audits and compliance initiatives.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage data backup strategies and disaster recovery plans. Regularly test and validate the effectiveness of backup and recovery procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to IT systems, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Contribute to knowledge base articles for self-service support.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers for IT procurement, maintenance agreements, and technical support escalations.
- Technology Recommendations: Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends. Provide recommendations for technology improvements and enhancements to the IT infrastructure.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline IT processes and enhance system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CCNA, MCSA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure management and technical support roles.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), Microsoft Office Suite, and productivity software.
- Familiarity with network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of security principles, including firewalls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective user support and documentation.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks is a plus.
- Familiarity with IT procurement processes and vendor management.
